Mould preparation is the series of procedures undertaken when mouldsets are removed from the casting table.  They are designed to ensure consistent mould quality, and correct any deficiencies arising during casting.  Wagstaff moulds are a piece of precision engineering, and need regular maintenance to guarantee the desired performance.

New moulds also need to go through the preparation route before use.
